THE BUNTING'S WERE ORIGONALLY FROM NORMANDY FRANCE. THE TRUE SPELLING OF THE NAME IS "BONTAIGNE", MEANING GOOD AIRES. THE BUNTINGS HAVE BEEN IN ENGLAND FOR OVER 900 YEARS. ACCORDING TO JACK BUNTING (WILF'S OLDEST SON), HIS FATHER TOLD HIM HE SAW THE EQUIVILENT OF A RENT RECIEPT DATING BACK TO THE TWELVTH CENTURY. IT IS BELIEVED THAT THE FAMILY CAME TO ENGLAND AT THE TIME OF WILLIAM THE CONQUEROR (1066 AD).
